GILAS Pilipinas primed itself for the third window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers with a two-game sweep of their scheduled friendlies in New Zealand.
The Philippine men’s basketball team whipped the Franklin Bulls, 94-66, three days before it faces the New Zealand Tall Blacks for the final window of the qualifiers’ opening round.
Carl Tamayo had a game-high 22 points, Dwight Ramos with 19, and big man AJ Edu added 14 as Gilas won its two tune up matches in training camp before its back-to-back games on the road.
